It must be their great food that shot McDonald’s profits to $1.2 billion in a bad economy. Not!

Anybody with live taste buds would agree that McDonald’s serves crap. Yet despite their pretend food and the horrors we saw in “Super Size Me,” the golden arches keep drawing in the crowds and raking in the cash.

What keeps the behemoth growing? Lean close for the secret word. READY? It’s a SYSTEM! A simple system that duplicates. That means that a pimply faced kid whose parents won’t trust him with the keys to the Chevy as well as a dude with marginal English can easily perform the tasks that ensure a constant CHA-CHING in Mac Crap joints around the world.

There’s no room in the empire for a creative franchisee who wants pink arches outside his restaurant to express his uniqueness. He can’t serve  burgers on pumpernickel buns because he prefers dark bread. His originality will put him on the unemployment line.

This all makes sense, right? It’s Business Smarts 101. Well, the last time I checked, Network Marketing was a business. Then why the hell do so many Network Marketers undermine  their success with  Pink Arches Syndrome? And why, after they fail, do they blame the industry? The only industry in a free enterprise world that allows ordinary people to achieve extraordinary success.

Maybe a lot of Network Marketers don’t play by the rules because they don’t have enough skin in the game. They didn’t pop $2 million bucks on a franchise. They waltzed into a business with  chump change up front, anywhere from two hundred bucks to a grand. They can afford to screw it up and walk away.

I mentioned rules. What are the rules of Network Marketing success? Actually, there’s only one. Here it is: It doesn’t matter if something works for you; it only matters if it duplicates.

Here are three important areas where you must duplicate or die:

• Using Tools – You may be a brilliant presenter. Can you resist the temptation to show off your skills by letting third party tools present your products and opportunity? Come on. Be honest. Do you consistently keep your mouth shut and direct people to a good sizzle call or online video? Or do you sneak out when nobody’s looking and paint the arches pink? Remember this. Your gift-of-the-gab can scare the crap out of a prospect who listens to you and thinks, “Damn! I can never do that!”

• 3 Way Calls – They work. And many of you avoid them. Why? Because you don’t understand them. A masterful 3 way call is a GIFT to your prospect. It’s also a powerful training tool for members of your team. It represents true duplication. • Developing Leaders – Do you “help” your associates by doing everything for them? If you answered yes, STOP IT! NOW! Admiration is a drug. It’s easy to love being loved. You know, when your people think you walk on water. You answer all their questions. You enroll their prospects for them. You’re available for them 24/7. So what happens if you go away for six months? Most likely, your organization falls apart. Why? Because you’ve created a team of dependents, not leaders. They can’t function without you. You have failed to duplicate yourself in them.

There are other areas where duplication is vital. I chose the three that contribute most to the growth or demise of your business. Think of other areas where duplication can make the difference between a dream payday or life in the hamster wheel. Share your thoughts with a comment on this post.

Why in the world would I not be interested in a company with the best comp plan?

My issue isn’t with any particular company. I’m turned off by the claim. And you should be too! Every company has the best comp plan! What else are they gonna claim?

2) THE BEST PRODUCTS

You wanna see my eyes go dead like I’m in a coma? Tell me you’ve got the best products.

Better yet, puke all over me with a detailed list of your exotic ingredients. You know, the purple berries from the Amazon Jungle that some hero risked his life to get for your shakes.

My eyes won’t go dead. They’ll go red with rage. I’ll wanna whack somebody!

Think about it. What’s your company gonna say? Their products are crap?

3) YOUR COMPANY IS IN MOMENTUM

They’ve been in business for twenty years, and they’re in momentum! They are a new start-up, and they’re in momentum! Three years, five years, a hundred years, and they’re all in momentum!

Tell me that, and I’ll show you momentum. I’ll ask you to turn around and bend down. Then, my foot will propel you into real momentum!

4) THE OWNERS WALK ON WATER

Your company’s owners came out of retirement to save the world. They were in hammocks drinking from coconuts, but they gave up life in paradise to heed the call! They have six hundred years of combined experience!

Big f______g deal!

STOP THE PISSING CONTEST!

WHAT’S LEFT TO SAY?

If you can’t talk about your comp plan, your products, momentum, your great leaders, or the social icons who endorse you, what the hell can you talk about?

ASK QUESTIONS?

Now, there’s a novel idea. Ask questions about the person your are prospecting. Find out what’s important to her. What are her dreams? Her Fears? Her needs? Her burning desires?

YOUR VISION

Once you know something meaningful about your prospect, share your vision with her.

Vision? What’s that? I know some of you reading this don’t know what your vision is. Well, until you find out, you will continue to peddle products, services, and comp plans. You will continue to struggle. Some of you will wear yourselves out and quit.

So, in a nutshell, your vision is your why that makes you cry.  It is bigger than you. It is bigger than a mansion full of money. It is bigger than your company. Whatever it is, your job is to connect it to your prospect’s deepest wants. And, you must sincerely demonstrate how your opportunity will fulfill those wants.

When you learn how to that, you will become invisible. You will never sound like a company brochure, and you will attract a team of committed people who will joyfully co-create a fortune with you!

Stop peddling products and services! They’re all the best. And they all suck!

I hope I got your attention. Let me be clear. I didn’t choose my words for shock effect. They mean what they say. Now, let’s get beneath the words to their essence.

You play a losing game when you brilliantly present your products. Think about it. Most MLM companies have hundreds of competitors with the “best” products. So stop looking for the unique spin that will make yours sound like eternal salvation.

Gee, what should you focus on? Your comp plan?  My answer is…

YOUR COMP PLAN SUCKS!

Every comp plan is the “best.” You can prove that yours is the best. After all, look at so and so who makes six figures a month, drives a company-paid-for S Class, never did Network Marketing before, and shot to the top of your plan in eight months. Oops! A one-eyed octogenarian in another company did it in six months!

Yada-yada-yada! You’re spinning your wheels with the comp plan lure.

But you’re a smart cookie. You know that people don’t buy products, services, or comp plans. Hell no! They buy YOU! Right?

Wrong! You know why? Because…

YOU SUCK!

Offended? Boo hoo! Suck it up, princess, and let’s get on with the show.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not for sale. And if you want a piece of me, you can’t afford it anyway.

Here are the holes in the notion that people buy you or any other leader.

• It’s too much weight on one person.
• It won’t sustain people long-term.
• It’s not duplicable.

The duplication issue is worth expanding on. Chances are that if you are the trustworthy charismatic superstar, most people who join you will feel they can’t live up to your stature. You can easily end up with a team of co-dependents. It happens all the time in MLM.

And, yeah, you can make good like that. But, you won’t create the kind of legacy walk away income that is possible in Network Marketing.

Why am I on this rant? Because, I’m a successful Network Marketer. Six years with one company. I made money my first month. I earn enough today to travel, play, and live well. And, I don’t have a J – O – B!

Plus, I built my growing empire one mistake at a time. I passionately pushed my products. It worked. I excitedly promoted my comp plan. It worked. I drew many into my team with my strong personality.

People joined; people left. I developed a hodgepodge personally enrolled team. In the process, my organization grew to thousands.

But something was missing. That unbeatable spirit that bonds a championship team.  The kind of spirit that creates miracles and permanently transforms lives.

I’m a student of Network Marketing because I love this industry. So, I continued to probe and learn more.  I’m excited to share with you what I passionately believe today.

The most powerful buy-in to an MLM company, the buy-in that fosters true duplication, the buy-in that forges teams of champions is the buy-in to…

THE VISION!

Here’s what happened when I took the time to define my company’s vision.

• My belief shot through the roof!
• I developed real posture.
• I tapped into powerful emotions that attract leaders.
• I was no longer distracted by “greener grass” in other companies.
• The phone became light as a feather.
• Prospecting became great fun.
• Many objections disappeared.
• My income continues to skyrocket!

Now, when I talk to people about what I do, I proudly offer them a lifestyle that many of them can’t resist. Who would not want to join a community of evolved, life-affirming people who support everyone’s journey to the top? I mean everyone including those who are not financially linked. Who would not want to bask in the genuine contagious optimism of multimillionaires who hold out a helping hand to all who seek it?

Who would not want to partner with thousands of people who walk their talk. Who could not love and respect company CEO’s who make themselves available to everyone in the field regardless of their rank and earning level? Who cannot be inspired by a powerful culture of contribution that, among other things, is helping to eradicate poverty, prostitution, and child abuse at home and abroad?

Who would not want all of this and a legitimate shot at a 7 figure legacy income?

Hey, I scream, “YES!” to this opportunity with every fiber of my being. After all, I’m the MLM Mobster. I get to feel great, look great, do good in the world, and enjoy the gangster lifestyle!

That, my friends, is an offer I just cannot refuse!

What makes you think you can leech off of my content for your gain? I’ve got a nasty henchman on guard 24/7. That’s right. He never sleeps. His name is Akismet, and he loves to whack creeps like you.

That includes jerks who leave comments like this, “I can’t wait to read your next post here…Thanks a lot!” Give me a break! Any goof with one eighth of a conscious brain can smell the stink on a comment like that. What did you like about the post? Duh!

So, if you’re starved for back-links without giving anything in return, prey on a different turf. You will only get squashed and trashed here.

Why not consider, although I doubt that you will, actually making a contribution online instead of polluting the world with your pettiness?

I’ve been playing the MLM for six years. First, it paid my bills. Then, it gave me a lifestyle that excites me. Now, it’s in my blood…

I love this industry. But some of the people in it – whoa! They’re lookin’ to get whacked! They’ve gotta be, cuz they walk around in a fog.

How Do You Get Paid?

I ask a lot of Network Marketers that question. We’re not talkin’ dummies. These are smart people. But they just go blank.

By the way, “Once a week,” “Once a month,” ain’t the right answers. Those answers are careless, like Vito told Michael. They will eventually get you whacked.

They’ll turn you into another piece of MLM roadkill. And you’ll bad mouth the industry for the rest of your life.

Binary Takes The Heat

So these days it’s fashionable to knock the binary. There’s a new tasty shake kid on the block whose really good at it.

You know what the binary says? “Take your best shot. I ain’t goin’ down. Ever.” Then, it laughs its ass off. Why? Because these “best shots” have the impact of a shadow punch.

You see, the sentence, “The binary doesn’t work,” has no meaning because no two binaries are alike. The sentence has no context. No context – no meaning!

Do some binaries suck? Yeah! But some of them rock. They allow everybody to make money, even some wetback who jumps into the game with her tongue wagging God knows what about.

The term binary is general. There are many variations on the theme. Explore them, study them – then, you’ll qualify to talk about them.

Is it a one third, two thirds binary? A fifty-fifty? How does it handle breakage? What are its requirements for a payout? What’s its dollar to volume ratio?

If you are in Network Marketing and don’t know what those questions mean, start watchin’ your back. Then, get the answers real quick.

And Al – what can I say? He’s given us some of the most memorable screen mobsters of the last century. Scarface, Michael Corleone…fugeddaboutit!

AL’S STORY
So, what’s Pacino got to do with Network Marketing? A lot – as you’ll see from this story.

Al wasn’t always rich and famous. Oh no. The man fought his way to the top. He made his bones, like any good tough guy.

You see, back in the day, Al was so freakin’ broke that he used to sleep until 2 or 3 in the afternoon to avoid hunger pangs. He was a superintendent in in a NYC tenement.

But get this. Really pay attention here. Superintendent was his circumstance. He was a leading actor, a star, in his mind.

So, he gets a call for an interview at a well known theater in Boston (maybe The Long Wharf). He borrows train fare and brown bags his food. He has the interview, and they offer him a role.

He takes it, right? WRONG! Al says, “No.” He turns down a paying gig when he’s practically starving. He’s left the rails, you think? No-no-no!

Remember. Al Pacino was a star in his own mind – where it counts. He turned down the job because it wasn’t a leading role. He thanked them and said that he only plays leads. What a set on this guy!

RICH WITHOUT MONEY

He goes back to the Big Apple penniless. But he’s rich! Because he’s a STAR!

The rest is history. He held on to his vision. Today, he’s a household name.

Al Pacino became a star by knowing what he wanted, by committing 100% to getting it, and doing whatever it took to seize his prize. Damn! That sounds like Network Marketing 101.

Are you as committed to your Network Marketing success as Pacino was to stardom?

It’s worth repeating and emphasizing. Al Pacino started his climb to the top by saying, “No!” to anything that wasn’t true to his clearly defined vision.  Think about it. He started with , “No!” He had phenomenal POSTURE.

WHO ARE YOU IN BATTLE?

Now that’s a word we toss around a lot in Network Marketing. Posture. Do you have it when it counts? It’s easy to have posture at your company’s convention or on a weekly training call. But do you have it when you’re on the battlefield? Do you have it when you’re prospecting?

What does it mean to have posture when it counts? It means that you clearly define (on paper) the ideal person you want to attract to your team.

It means that when  five, or six, or seven people in a row say no to you, that you don’t greet number eight like you’re a silly lapdog. Especially when number eight is a broke negative lame!

Your ability to say no requires an abundance mentality. Cultivate it. Nourish it. Cherish it.

Define and stay true to your vision. Then, prospect with your head held high as you easily make ‘em offers that they just can’t refuse.
